HIV/AIDS

MedEx Associates is home to the only private HIV/AIDS program in Augusta, GA. Our program staff is dedicated to partnering with our patients in order to individualize treatment plans that optimize HIV/AIDS therapy outcomes. MedEx Associates provides both physical and mental health services to our HIV/AIDS patients to ensure that we restore and maintain the quality of life that you enjoyed before diagnosis.

Hepatitis C (HCV)

1 in 33 "Baby Boomers" will be diagnosed with Hepatitis C this year. Despite over 200,000 "Baby Boomers" in the Augusta area nearly 95% of those with Hepatitis C are either undiagnosed or untreated. If you, or someone you know, is in this population or has engaged in risky behaviors (tattooing, manicures/pedicures, illicit drug use, needle sharing, unprotected sex), get tested! Know your HCV status and seek care for Hepatitis C to get cured!

Research

MedEx Associates offspring, MedEx Research, LLC is founded upon the principles of Best Clinical Practice guidelines and ethical practices with the ultimate goal of providing state of the art medical care to patients regardless of their insurance status. With this goal in mind, MedEx Research partners not only with MedEx Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases physicians, but multiple sub-specialties within their expanding network in Augusta and across the state.

Infectious Diseases

Many people stigmatize Infectious Diseases, but in-fact, it is likely that we have all experienced at least one of many Infectious Diseases throughout our lifetime. It is the goal of our Infectious Diseases physicians to reverse the belief that Infectious Diseases are isolated in certain populations. MedEx Associates Infectious Diseases physicians treat illnesses requiring antibiotics. From chronic Osteomyelitis and Cellulitis to post-op infections, our physicians cater to patients in the Augusta, GA area with a wide-range of acute and chronic infections. Hospitalists

MedEx Associates' Augusta based Hospitalists program services multiple area hospital patients' inpatient needs. Our business model that incorporates Internal Medicine Hospitalists and their physician extender counterparts has served to reduce length-of-stay for hospitalized patients. The addition of support staff allows MedEx hospitalists to boast decreased 30-day readmissions for patients under our care. Our Hospitalists' goal is to limit the patient's length of stay, ease the transitions both into and out of the hospital for both patients and referring physicians and increase communication in order to increase continuity of care.
